A special learning session titled “Design Thinking for Startup and Entrepreneurship: Innovate,
Iterate, Impact” under “Entrepreneurship & Innovation” as Career Opportunities” was conducted
by Dr. Sudhanshu Joshi from Doon University at B. S. Negi MPPS on 21st
November 2025. Dr.Joshi is an Associate Professor, School of Management, Doon University, Dehradun and
Coordinator, PM Gati Shakti Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management,
Doon University.
The
session was organized for students with the aim of introducing them to modern approaches in
innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking. About 40 students from all the
departments attended the session.Dr. Joshi, an experienced academic and practitioner in the
field of management and innovation, provided valuable insights into how design thinking serves
as a powerful framework for developing creative solutions and launching successful startups.
He emphasized the importance of understanding user needs, experimenting with ideas, and
continuously refining concepts through iteration.During the session, students were guided
through the key stages of design thinking—empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Dr.
Joshi highlighted how these stages help aspiring entrepreneurs build meaningful and impactful
solutions. Real-world examples and interactive discussions kept the students engaged and
encouraged them to think critically and creatively.The session also covered essential
entrepreneurial skills, including opportunity recognition, market understanding, business model
development, and the importance of resilience in the startup journey. Dr. Joshi motivated
students to adopt a mindset of innovation, take calculated risks, and pursue their ideas with confidence.Overall, the session was highly informative and inspiring. It helped students gain a
practical understanding of the innovation process and strengthened their interest in
entrepreneurship. The institution expressed gratitude to Dr. Sudhanshu Joshi for sharing his
expertise and for encouraging students to think boldly and design with purpose.
