A knowledge-enriching session on “Achieving Problem–Solution Fit” was conducted by Ms. Swati Joshi for the students of B.S. Negi MPPS on 26th November 2025. The objective of the session was to help students understand how meaningful innovation begins with identifying a real, clearly defined problem and designing a solution that genuinely addresses users’ needs. Ms. Joshi explained that before thinking of a product or idea, it is essential to deeply understand the user, their challenges, and the root cause of the problem. She introduced simple methods such as observing users, asking the right questions, and refining the problem statement. She then discussed how students can brainstorm multiple solutions and test them with users to check whether their idea truly fits the problem. The session included interactive discussions where students shared common issues from their surroundings. Ms. Joshi guided them to convert these into focused problem statements and think of practical solutions. This hands-on activity helped students understand the importance of validation and feedback in the innovation process. Students actively participated and showed enthusiasm in learning how structured thinking can lead to impactful solutions. The session not only improved their problem-solving mindset but also encouraged them to approach innovation with empathy and clarity. Overall, the session was insightful, engaging, and effectively strengthened students’ understanding of how to achieve a strong Problem–Solution Fit in any innovative idea.
