“Coming together is beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

It is indeed a great pleasure and honor for me to share my notion on B. S. NEGI Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan. Many well-known and well-meaning personalities from different walks of life have played an indispensable role in framing this institution, which in the current scenario serves as a catalyst in ensuring all round development of the students. The quote stated above stands unerring when it comes to the staff and management of this institution.

While presenting an epitome of quintessential curriculum and opportunities, the agenda of this establishment remains true well being of pupils. We value collaborative learning, positive relationships and building capacity amongst our girls to effectively allow them to engage in the world of the future, where problem solving, evaluating, working in teams, communicating, creating and innovating are not only valued concepts, but expected skills, attributes and capabilities.

We support the individual wellbeing of our girls and provide a learning environment that allows every student to thrive as they work towards achieving their personal best performance. We set high expectations for our girls and work hard to safeguard positive emotions across our college community. We are partners in learning with our students and seek to deepen their knowledge, provide enriching and innovative learning experiences, while also gently urging our girls out of their comfort zone to attempt new challenges. One of our major aim is to inculcate moral values among the girls as well.

They are the future leaders and role models of society.

The B.S. Negi Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan, popularly known as the ONGC Mahila Polytechnic was inaugurated on 27th June 1987 by Mrs. Shobhana Wahi, wife of Honorable Col. S. P. Wahi, ex- Chairman of ONGC. With Mrs. Shobhana Wahi as its patron, the Sansthan was established to meet the growing need for Vocational Training for Women of Uttarakhand and nearby states.

The institute is a private, self-financed, independent and autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Sansthan is not aided by any Government or private agencies. At the onset of the establishment of the institute, there were few courses which were run in the Sansthan. However, in the present scenario, the numbers of courses have been increased in which a large number of students are getting trained under the guidance of competent and efficient faculties. The Sansthan has created a benchmark of its own and thus is the pride of Uttarakhand.

The objective of the institute is to work for the economic upliftment of Women in society by imparting Vocational Training and thus help them become financially independent. The main thrust is on the girls hailing from remote hilly area who due to social or economic handicap are not able to travel distant places for higher education and vocational training. After successfully completing their course, they are capable of either setting up their own small scale business or enterprise, or seek employment in reputed firms.

Sansthan regularly organizes lectures and workshops on financial management and entrepreneur skills. Our next prime objective is to assist our students in fixing a proper job. For this Sansthan regularally conducts campus interviews from time to time.

As these courses are affiliated by AICTE, the students are eligible to apply for any Government jobs besides exploring private jobs and self-employment.
